Compostable Coffee Bags

A compostable bag is only compostable if every component is. A certified film with a conventional plastic valve and a wire tin tie is not a compostable bag, it is a compostable film with plastic parts — and that distinction is exactly what a knowledgeable customer will check. We build these with a certified compostable film, a compatible compostable degassing valve, and a closure specified to match.

The films are typically kraft paper laminated to PLA and cellulose-based layers, which gives a real oxygen and moisture barrier while remaining certified for industrial composting. Barrier performance is good but not identical to foil, so we are direct about it: for a fast-moving subscription or a cafe supply program it is more than enough; for a bag that may sit on a shelf for a year, foil still wins.

Print behaves like kraft — warmer, more muted, with white ink available for contrast — and we supply the certification details so your packaging claim is accurate rather than aspirational. Where industrial composting is not available to your customers, we will tell you that too, because a claim that does not match local reality does more harm than good.
