Flat-bottom bags — box-bottom, in the trade — stand square and unassisted whether they are full or half empty, which is why specialty roasters have largely moved to them. On a shelf the effect is immediate: a row of flat-bottom bags looks like a row of packages, while a row of soft-bottomed bags looks like a row of bags.

The format gives you five printable panels: front, back, both sides and the top. That extra real estate is genuinely useful — origin story on one side, brew guide on the other, a scannable code on the top, and a clean uncluttered front that does the selling. The structure holds its shape through all of it, so nothing distorts.

Construction uses more film than a side-gusset bag, and that is the trade: better shelf presence and more print area, at a higher cost per unit. We build them with a high-barrier laminate, a one-way valve, and a resealable zipper or tin tie, and we can reinforce the base further for larger fill weights that would slump in a lighter structure.
